The $20.8 million Yanchep Health Centre will go ahead thanks to a $10.4 investment by the Liberal National Government.

The Yanchep Health Centre will see funding contributions of $2.3 million and $8.1 million from Edith Cowan University and the Western Australian State Government respectively.

The Federal Liberal Government’s investment of $10.4 million will mean that this critical project will become a reality.

The Yanchep Health Centre will establish a new model of primary health care that is patient centric, technology enabled, and able to meet the current and future needs of the Yanchep community and surrounding areas.

Minister for Health, Greg Hunt said the financial investment is evidence of the Government’s commitment to ensuring all Australians have access to critical health services.

“Our Government’s funding of the Yanchep Health Campus will improve health outcomes and save lives,” Minister Hunt said.

“This latest announcement will provide services that meet the current and future health care needs of Western Australia’s rapidly growing northern suburbs.”

“By delivering our plan for a strong economy we can make investments in projects like the new Health Campus that West Australians want and need.”

The new facilty will form an integrated and multidiscipline health centre in the Yanchep City Centre within walking distance to the proposed new train station.

The Yanchep Health Centre will have space for:

  • Medical clinics
  • Allied health and GP
  • Nurse Practitioner and community mid wife consulting rooms
  • Treatment rooms
  • Education and training rooms

Federal Member for Pearce, Christian Porter welcomed the announcement and said the Campus will address a healthcare gap in the area.

“Western Australia’s norther suburbs have undergone, and continue to undergo, significant population growth,” Mr Porter said.

“The Yanchep Health Campus will provide multidisciplinary health services to residents who would otherwise have to travel in order to access these critical services.”

“I’m incredibly proud to see this project become a reality, having worked on it for a number of years with Edith Cowan University and Yanchep Beach Joint Venture.”

“Importantly, this is real money in a real budget.”
